5C-10 Different Liberty Head Nickels
Liberty Head or "V" Nickels were minted from 1883-1912 and have an interesting history from their inception. Having no denomination other than the Roman numeral V, early 1883 pieces were gold plated and passed as $5.00 gold coins otherwise known as "racketeer nickels". The word "cents" was soon added to discourage fraudulent practices. 1912 was to be the last year of the "V" nickel. However, 5 coins were struck dated 1913 and are among the rarest of all numismatic coins.
5C-5 Different Buffalo Nickel
Indian Head or Buffalo nickels were minted from 1913-1938. Designed by James E. Fraser, buffalo nickels are a tribute to the American Indian and the American bison. All coins will grade good or better.
