A Great Loss

Richard Norton lost his battle with cancer last year. I have know Richard since I was a child first meeting him at the age of nine at a coin club meeting in Nashville. Richard owned two stores in town. The Collectors Shop in One Hundred Oaks and Tennessee Exchange in the Third National Bank building downtown.

Any of you “old timers” will remember Richard well. He was a huge man with a deep voice that would rumble through any room no matter it’s size. Richard was a friendly competitor of ours and I will miss his entrance into my store. Every time he opened the door he let out a mighty “hi Mikey” that shook the room. Of all the memories, that is what sticks in my head. Richard, you will be missed.
